About Teddy Bears for Hope
Imagine for a minute that you are a young child. Your home, as well as all your favorite toys, have been destroyed by floods, and war has torn apart your neighborhood. You have been left with nothing. Members of your family have disappeared and you do not know why. You long for things to return to how they were only a few weeks before. You were able to go outside and play with your small group of friends whenever you chose, but now you do not even have anything to play with. If there was something that could help you get through these tough times, you could once again find some of the joy that had been stolen away from you. Teddy Bears for Hope works to return this joy to the lives of children by providing them with hope for a better tomorrow through the comforting powers of a teddy bear.
Teddy Bears for Hope is a non-profit organization that provides brand new teddy bears to children around the world whose lives have been ravaged by tragedy. Millions of innocent children suffer each year from homelessness, poverty, and disease. These children desire anything that can provide them with hope that the future will be better. Teddy Bears for Hope was founded by Adam Sternbach, an 18 year old college student. After viewing a documentary showing the inhumane conditions children in the Darfur region of Sudan are forced to endure, such as lack of food and sleeping on crowded dirt floors away from their families, Adam was moved by the overwhelming sadness in these children's lives. Realizing how little these children have and the hopelessness they face each and every day, Adam felt compelled to help these children and others like them suffering around the world. Adam established Teddy Bears for Hope because a teddy bear is one of the few things that is able to bring comfort and hope into these children's lives.
Teddy Bears for Hope is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity. All donations to Teddy Bears for Hope are tax-deductible to the maximum amount permitted by law.
